Clayton became Executive Pastor of Generosity at The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in the greater Kansas City, Missouri area in September 2005 after 25 years as a senior pastor in several churches. He leads the ministry areas of stewardship, development and generosity, offering oversight and support to giving campaigns for the annual operating budget, capital building funds, special strategic and mission gifts, memorial giving and planned gifts for the Resurrection Foundation. He consults with churches on stewardship and financial campaigns, speaks at conferences and leads faith-based programs that help people with personal financial stewardship. As senior pastor at Schweitzer United Methodist Church, he received the denomination’s Circuit Rider Award for Church Growth. His book, Propel: Good Stewardship – Greater Generosity, was published in March 2015. Clayton and his wife, Lori, have four children and two grandchildren, and love horses, gardening, golf and travel.
